Let Joy And Innocence Prevail

Let Joy And Innocence Prevail

Recall three pleasant childhood memories and you will find at least one of them is a vision of us playing...probably with toys. They bring fun, comfort, learning, imagination and innumerable hours well-spent to mind. So what would a childhood deprived of toys feel or look like to you?

How do you think a child with no access to toys spends their early years? How do they seek comfort, constant companionship, fun and learning? According to a UNICEF report (2010) a near 48% of India’s children under 5 years old are malnourished. Do you really suppose that they can ill-afford to think of luxuries such as toys? Yet, these children are deserving of toys to keep them productively occupied in the spare hours keeping them away from dangerous situations.

We at Ahambhumika are working towards the idea of opening a modest toy library to cater to the needs of children between the ages 3 and 6 years old. We hope to make a beginning with the tribal village of Bodakho (near Bhopal in M.P). The proposed toy library will have another purpose – to attract the interest of the otherwise apathetic brick workers and construction site labor so that they bring their children to Aganwadi as the word of mouth spreads about the toy library and thus engage them.

This is where you come in. If you wish to help us in this honest endeavour towards the making of the toy library for the poorest of the poor in the tribal village of Bodakho, you may:
1. Donate old but clean and workable (not damaged) toys to us which we will include in the toy library.
2.You are also free to buy new toys and send them to us* or
3.Send in a demand draft or cheque to our address that will go in to make the toy library a reality**.

We have a few suggestions for the type of toys that would help your effort, though this is not an exhaustive list:

I do consider all the concepts you have introduced
for your post. They're really convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are very quick for newbies. May you please prolong them a bit from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
